EUROfusion and Fusion for Energy project leaders have visited Wigner RCP to check the status of video diagnostic being built for Japan

European fusion research coordinator EUROfusion and european ITER contribution coordinator Fusion for Energy have visited Wigner Research Centre for Physics. The aim of the delegation was to check the status of the video diagnostic being built for Japanese JT-60SA tokamak which is developed by Hungarian physicists and engineers. This video diagnostic will be the first european one on this device.

The Hungarian researchers will ship the diagnostic to Japan in spring 2019, where it will be installed and tested again within a few weeks. JT-60SA will start in September 2020 and it will be the largest superconducting tokamak in the World. JT-60SA is a joint EU-Japan project.
